In the morning we start out for Heraklion and meet Verena. We have planned to visit that piece of land on which the municipal authorities have put up a provisional animal shelter under olive trees. After that we want to go to Mochlos and Malia, where castrations are on the agenda today.
06. – 07.10.: Fullhouse, Dennis, Stork and Thoughtfulness
“I can’t believe it! We have been on Crete several times before but I have never been thus aware of all this!” Two tourists from Freiburg, who visit us at the shelter, because of having found a cat in the dustbin, find themselves speechless, when having a look at all the maltreated animals in the shelter.
On a day like this, one really realizes how tough it is to work for animal welfare on Crete. Apart from the fact how heartless some people are, it is unbelievable, what some of the animals have to endure.
